Kelsey (she/her)May 15, 2023 at 3:08 pm #4383Thanks for getting us started Renata! I completely agree with the juicing. The veggie juices were hard to wrap my head around at first (after growing up on processed foods), but I’ve grown to love them so much. I skipped a day of juicing last week and I noticed it big time! When I made my juice the next morning I had to stop myself from gulping it down because I’d missed it so much 🙂 I’m amazed at how the hydration practices have affected you! If anything I’ve become more dry, and oddly enough, I’ve noticed rapid aging in my skin all over my body in the past month or two since starting all of this. It’s like no matter how much I drink, how much olive oil I eat, or how much I moisturize, my skin feels/looks leathery dry.
I think I’m lying somewhere between the advanced intermediate and advanced diet practices. This has been a big shift for me in the last couple months. Previously I ate much more in line with GAPS and WAPF principles. Now I’ve cut out fermented foods (for the time being) and animal foods. I’ve found even with goat cheese, I tend to behave somewhat addictively and it ends up being unsustainable. I plan to continue eating homemade meat stock/bone broth, but not sure how much animal foods I’ll consume outside of that. I think it might be a good idea to include wild caught seafood like salmon and/or pasture raised liver once per week, but haven’t been doing any meat at all lately. I am a little worried whether I’m getting enough protein.
My main staple dish everyday has been based on a chunky veggie salad. I like to mix them all together in a big bowl (carrots, snap peas, onion, cucumber, tomato, etc.) and add a legume or two, then I drizzle on coconut aminos, cider vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, unrefined salt and pepper. I just pour these into mason jars and they’re super easy to grab and go all week! I was adding goat cheese, but don’t think that’s sustainable for me so I’ve shifted to avocado addition.
I usually fast from about 7pm to around 12-2pm the following day. I do however have green tea with lemon and honey in the morning (around 7am) and I have a fresh juice as well (around 10am) during the fasting period. I’m starting to realize how this might be keeping the candida fed, despite being super healthy choices. The biggest area I need improvement is cutting out all sugars, even these natural ones in fruit and honey. I’d also like to start incorporating 24-72 hours fasting periods, but am a little nervous this will trigger some binge eating behaviors.

Kelsey (she/her)May 8, 2023 at 7:43 pm #4374I love that Renata! I sometimes forget and it’s such a good reminder. Do you ever put a little post-it note or something to write directly on the container?? I saw this in Dr. Emoto’s work, but haven’t tried it myself. I think there’s lots of different perspectives and literature on crystals, I only have three little ones so that’s what I’m using 🙂 They’re a quartz, an amethyst, and an aventurine!
